Northern Pass will create 2,600 jobs in New Hampshire over the project’s construction phase. The Eversource Energy Jobs Partnership ensures that preference will be given to hiring New Hampshire workers and that there will be opportunities for local workers to train for jobs on power line projects. The Partnership also includes opportunities for local contractors and businesses when bidding on work related to construction of the project. Eversource has also finalized a project labor agreement (PLA) that will ensure local workers will be given hiring priority.
Northern Pass will also provide a boost to New Hampshire businesses, including suppliers, restaurants, and lodging. To encourage workers to visit locally-owned businesses, Northern Pass created a Business Directory with the names and locations of diners, convenience stores, and other businesses that workers are likely to need during the construction phase of the project.
